Terms and Conditions
Last updated: 17 July 2026
Welcome to Humble Hopes. These Terms and Conditions govern your use of our website and any purchases made through it.
By accessing this website, creating an account, placing an order, or using any of our services, you agree to these Terms and Conditions.
1. About Humble Hopes
This website is operated by:
Business name: Humble Hopes
Email: hello@humblehopes.co.za
Country: South Africa
References to “Humble Hopes”, “we”, “us” or “our” refer to the business operating this website.
2. Website use
You may use this website only for lawful purposes.
You may not:
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the website or its systems.
- Introduce malicious software or interfere with the website’s operation.
- Use our images, product descriptions, branding or other content without permission.
- Place fraudulent orders or provide false information.
- Use the website in a way that infringes another person’s rights.
We may suspend or restrict access where we reasonably believe the website is being misused.
3. Product information
We make reasonable efforts to display product descriptions, measurements, materials, colours and images accurately.
However:
- Colours may appear slightly different depending on the device or screen used.
- Product measurements may vary slightly.
- Handmade or individually finished items may have minor variations.
- Product packaging may differ from images displayed.
- Images may be enlarged to show detail.
Jewellery images are illustrative and should be read together with the written product description.
4. Product availability
Products are subject to availability.
Adding an item to your basket does not reserve it. If a product becomes unavailable after an order is placed, we will contact you and offer one of the following:
- A suitable replacement, with your approval.
- Store credit, with your approval.
- A refund for the unavailable item.
5. Prices
All prices are shown in South African rand.
Prices include VAT where Humble Hopes is legally required to charge VAT.
Delivery charges are shown separately during checkout before payment is completed.
We may change prices at any time, but a price change will not affect an order that has already been accepted and paid for.
If an obvious pricing or listing error occurs, we may cancel the affected order and refund any amount paid.
6. Orders
An order is submitted when you complete checkout.
You are responsible for checking that:
- The products and quantities are correct.
- Your delivery address is accurate.
- Your email address and telephone number are correct.
- Any selected size, colour, variation or personalisation is correct.
An automated order confirmation confirms that we received your order. It does not necessarily confirm that the order has been finally accepted.
We may decline or cancel an order where:
- Payment was unsuccessful or reversed.
- The item is unavailable.
- The order appears fraudulent.
- An obvious pricing or product error occurred.
- Delivery cannot reasonably be made to the supplied address.
If we cancel a paid order, we will refund the affected amount.
7. Payment
Payments are processed through the payment methods displayed at checkout.
Payment information may be processed by third-party payment providers. Humble Hopes does not ordinarily store complete bank card information.
You confirm that you are authorised to use the payment method selected.
An order will generally only be processed once payment has been confirmed.
8. Delivery
We currently deliver to addresses within South Africa unless stated otherwise.
Estimated delivery periods are guidelines and may be affected by:
- Courier delays.
- Remote-area delivery schedules.
- Public holidays.
- Severe weather.
- Incorrect address information.
- Stock availability.
- Events beyond our reasonable control.
You must provide a delivery address where someone can receive the parcel during normal delivery hours.
Risk remains with us until the goods have been delivered, subject to applicable law. The Consumer Protection Act includes protections concerning delivery and the consumer’s opportunity to examine delivered goods.
9. Failed and incorrect deliveries
If delivery fails because the address or contact details supplied were incorrect, incomplete or inaccessible, additional delivery charges may apply.
Please notify us promptly if:
- Your parcel appears damaged.
- Items are missing.
- You received an incorrect product.
- Tracking indicates delivery but you did not receive the parcel.
10. Cancellations
Please contact us as soon as possible if you wish to cancel an order.
We may be able to cancel an order before it has been packed or dispatched.
Once an order has been dispatched, it must be handled under our Refund and Returns Policy and applicable consumer law.
Personalised, engraved, customised or specially ordered products may not be cancellable once production or procurement has started, except where required by law.
11. Returns, defects and refunds
Returns, exchanges and refunds are governed by our Refund and Returns Policy, which forms part of these Terms and Conditions.
Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you may have under the Consumer Protection Act or other applicable South African law.
Under the Consumer Protection Act, qualifying defective, unsafe or poor-quality goods may be returned within six months, and the consumer may elect repair, replacement or refund where the statutory requirements apply.
12. Earrings and hygiene-sensitive products
For hygiene reasons, earrings or other pierced jewellery that has been opened, worn or tried on may not be accepted for a discretionary change-of-mind return.
This restriction does not remove your rights where the product is defective, unsafe, incorrectly supplied or otherwise returnable under applicable law.
13. Product care
Jewellery may naturally show wear over time.
To prolong the life of your jewellery:
- Avoid contact with perfume, lotions, cleaning chemicals and chlorine.
- Remove jewellery before swimming, bathing, showering or exercising.
- Store pieces separately in a dry place.
- Avoid pulling, bending or placing heavy pressure on delicate pieces.
Damage caused by misuse, accidental damage, improper storage, unauthorised repair or ordinary wear and tear may not qualify as a defect.
14. Promotions and discount codes
Promotional offers:
- Apply only during the stated promotional period.
- May be limited to selected products.
- May not be exchanged for cash.
- May not be combined unless expressly stated.
- May be subject to minimum order values or usage limits.
We may withdraw or correct a promotion affected by fraud, error or misuse.
15. Accounts
You may be able to create an account for order tracking or faster checkout.
You are responsible for:
- Keeping your login information secure.
- Activities conducted through your account.
- Notifying us if you suspect unauthorised use.
We may suspend or close an account that is used fraudulently or unlawfully.

18. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Humble Hopes will not be liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the website or products.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability that cannot be excluded under the Consumer Protection Act.
19. Privacy
Our handling of personal information is explained in our Privacy Policy.
By using the website, you acknowledge that personal information will be processed as described in that policy.
20. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time.
The current version will be published on this page with an updated revision date. The terms applicable to an order are generally those in effect when the order was placed.
21. Governing law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
Any dispute will be dealt with by the courts or consumer dispute-resolution bodies with jurisdiction, subject to your statutory rights.
